Its shallowest point is just 3 meters, while the main formation lies around 10 meters, sometimes with a gentle current to make the dive even more exciting. On the north-west side, a striking columnar basalt wall leads to a plateau of large boulders covered in coralligenous growth, the perfect home for majestic groupers such as dusky and goldblotch groupers, and dentex. To the left, around 30 meters, the famous “Mammellone” wall plunges to 45 meters, adorned with gorgonians, calcareous algae, Astroides, sponges, and ascidian colonies. On the seabed, you’ll find rare pink tube sponges, a unique Mediterranean encounter.
