The Dives

Secca della Colombara

38.7299, 13.1800

One of the most stunning dives on the island. Its shallowest point is just 3 meters, while the main formation lies around 10 meters, sometimes with a gentle current to make the dive even more exciting. On the north-west side, a striking columnar basalt wall leads to a plateau of large boulders covered in coralligenous growth, the perfect home for majestic groupers such as dusky and goldblotch groupers, and dentex. To the left, around 30 meters, the famous “Mammellone” wall plunges to 45 meters, adorned with gorgonians, calcareous algae, Astroides, sponges, and ascidian colonies. On the seabed, you’ll find rare pink tube sponges, a unique Mediterranean encounter.
Keep your eyes open for pelagic species like barracuda, amberjacks, and even large tunas if luck is on your side, along with resident schools of salema, gilt-head bream, and striped sea bream. The shoal gently rises from 50 meters back up to the Cappello, offering a dive full of color, life, and surprises. A truly unforgettable underwater adventure awaits every diver here.
